Breaking News! According to TV reports, the Centre has decided to drop the clause on setting up of Lokayuktas in the states under the Lokpal Bill, which upset the Team Anna.

The government is trying to convince the Opposition parties and allies on this issue. According to reports, the CBI has given its consent to the dropping of Lokayukta clause from Lokpal Bill, while the Trinamool Congress always insisted on the removal of this clause.

Other political parties haven't yet given their consent. But it is believed that majority of them would agree to the proposal given by the centre.

Team Anna member Kiran Bedi has expressed surprise and disappointment over the reports, saying the government has betrayed the trust of the people. She accused the PM of trying to bring a weak Lokpal Bill and said that the battle would be between the public and elected representatives.
