News Desk: The main opposition BJP will continue attacking Home Minister P Chidambaram in the Parliament today over the 2006 Aircel-Maxis deal despite his clarification on the issue in Lok Sabha on Thursday.

The BJP has given a notice for the suspension of the Question Hour in Rajya Sabha protesting against Chidambaram for his alleged involvement in the deal when he was the Finance Minister.

On Thursday, Chidambaram had defended himself in Lok Sabha by claiming that his family members were not involved in the deal. He claimed that his son Karti Chidambaram was not involved in the Aircel-Maxis deal not his family owns any stake in either Aircel or Maxis.

Not being satisfied with the clarification by Chidambaram, the BJP joined by the MPs of AIADMK waved the front page of a newspaper, which claimed that the actual clearance was given on October 3, 2006, while the government had claimed on April 28 that Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) had approved the sale of telecom Aircel to Malaysia-based Maxis on March 7, 2006.
