News Desk: The unnecessary hype and drama over the 1949 cartoon of Dr. BR Ambedkar continued unabated, as some hooligans vandalised the office of former NCERT advisor Prof. Suhas Palshikar in Pune this morning.
Â
Some members of Republican Panthers were arrested after the attack was flashed in the media. People wonder when Baba Saheb Ambedkar himself did not oppose the cartoon, why some vested interests are raking up this issue after 63 years.
Â
Another former NCERT advisor Yogendra Yadav, who quit along with Prof. Suhas Palshikar, has expressed concerns and apprehension over the latest development. The Indian Parliament had already witnessed a ruckus over the issue yesterday. That forced the government to withdraw the cartoon from NCERT text book. |
