News Desk: In a desperate bid to put Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna in trouble, the BJP has fielded Prakash Pant against him in the Sitarganj assembly bypoll. Â Prakash Pant is a senior BJP leader and served as a Minister in successive BJP governments in Uttarakhand. He recently lost the assembly polls from Pithoragarh. Â The bypoll in Sitarganj was necessitated after BJP MLA Kiran Mandal resigned as the MLA in support of Bahuguna. The BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging use of money power in the entire process. Â The Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Uttarakhand Kranti Dal have opted out of the bypoll in favour of Congress MP and CM Bahuguna. However, the BJP has vowed to give him a run for his money. |
