News Desk: In an interesting political development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has turned against Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, saying the NDA should declare its Prime Ministerial candidate before the 2014 general elections and the candidate should be of secular credentials.

It was quite evident that Nitish Kumar's statement was meant at neutralising Narendra Modi's growing influence in the BJP amidst reports that Modi could be projected as the PM's candidate.

Nitish took a dig at Modi, saying people banking on regional development, should not try to hijack any party or alliance and the PM candidate should be acceptable to all allies of the BJP.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and Deputy CM of Bihar, Sushil Modi has come out in support of Nitish Kumar, saying the Prime Minister should be a moderate one like Atal Behari Vajpayee. He also ruled out any threat to JD(U)-BJP alliance in Bihar.
