News Desk: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has returned the fire to JD (U) leader and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar even as the BJP maintained a stoic silence. The RSS slammed Nitish for raking up the issue of communal vs secular.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat has questioned the timing of Nitish's outburst against Narendra Modi, saying the country always had secular Prime Ministers and it was wrong on the part of Nitish to rake up a non-issue when 2014 general elections are far away.

The RSS asked Nitish why he thinks that a person with Hindutva credentials should not become the Prime Minister of the country. It also grilled Nitish for staying back as the Minister in NDA government even after 2002 Gujarat riots.

Even though JD(U) leader Shivanand Tiwari has hit back at the RSS and threatened to quit the NDA if Modi is elevated to the post of President, the RSS is not a mood to let things go easily. RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav supported Mohan Bhagwat and took a dig at Nitish, saying "golden words are not repeated".

The latest political crisis triggered by the JD(U) had shifted the focus from the 2012 Presidential Polls to the 2014 General Elections vs Narendra Modi and put the BJP in further trouble.
