News Desk: Senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Friday filed his nomination for the Vice Presidential election. The NDA candidate will contest the poll against UPA nominee Hamid Ansari.


He filed his nominations in presence of senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav.


The poll will be tough for Singh as he will contest against Ansari, the present Vice-President.


Jaswant Singh has been elected to the Rajya Sabha five times and to the Lok Sabha four times. He was Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha from 2004, and he is now a member of the Lok Sabha from Darjeeling.
