Breaking News! Former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel quit the BJP today. He is expected to form a new political party. He has sent his resignation to the party Chief Nitin Gadkari.

Patel, who remained one of the most influential leaders in Gujarat, is a bitter critic of his colleague and present CM Narendra Modi.

Patel is likely to announce a new party on Saturday evening. Before sending resignation to Gadkari, he met his loyalists Kashiram Rana, Suresh Mehta at his residence to chalk out strategy.

His new party will be based on the ideology of Hindutva used in liberal and broad sense, he had earlier hinted.

The formation of new party led by Patel ahead of the Assembly elections, may pose a hindrance to Modi. He is all set to form a party to dislodge the Modi government from power in the upcoming polls.
