New Delhi: Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram has rejected Gujarat’s anti-terror bill, GUJCOC (Gujarat Control of Organised Crime) bill, even as Gujarat CM Narendra Modi showered praise on him for tackling terrorism.

Chidambaram was speaking at a Chief Ministers’ meeting on Internal Security in New Delhi today. He said that there was no need for a separate law to tackle terrorism in states.

The Home Minister said that all states are on the same page on the issue of internal security. He talked tough on the Maoists, but ruled out using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in the fight against them.

Earlier, Narendra Modi had complimented P Chidambaram and Home Secretary GK Pillai for their approach in tackling terror. However, that failed to impress Chidambaram.
