Mumbai: Breaking News! While the war has intensified between Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman to prove who is the "Best" Khan in the film industry, Salman has taken a beating with the poor response to his latest movie, "Veer". While all die-hard Salman fans have thronged to the theatres to watch the movie, many people felt disappointed, as they expected more from Salman and "Veer".

The race was between Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots", Salman Khan's "Veer" and SRK's "My Name Is Khan". While "3 Idiots" broke all records in India and overseas by a Hindi film, "Veer" turned out to be a flop show. Shah Rukh's "My Name Is Khan" is set for the release on February 12.

There was much hype about Salman Khan's "Veer" and its new actress Zarine Khan, who is said to be a look-a-like of Katrina Kaif. However, while Zarine did some justice to her role, "Veer" failed to impress the viewers on a whole.

The movie was nothing but an old wine in a new bottle. The King, the Prince, the Commoner, romance, drama, action, revenge, emotion.... There is nothing new.

The film was depicted as it has launched a freedom struggle against the British rule. But this is the history. People are fed up such movies. They expect social and common issues. And "Veer" is nowhere to compete with others.

Forget about the success of the musical hit, "Jodha Akbar". That clicked as they did talked more about romance and beauty rather than fight. But "Veer" talks about swords, horses and many more, which are hardly relevant these days.

It's true that Salman Khan, Zarine Khan and Mithun Chakroborty are simply great and they acted superbly in this movie. They left no stone unturned to justify their respective roles. However, the movie lacked the "charisma" somewhere and don't be surprised if it turns out to be a damp squib. However, for Salman Khan fans, it's a good entertainment.
