Kolkata: In a day of hectic activities, which saw the Andhra High Court striking down the 4% reservation for Muslims in education and state government jobs, the West Bengal government has decided to give a 10% quota to Muslims of the state in government jobs. Â All Muslims that come under the OBC category, will get the benefits of the 10% quota, said the state government. The West Bengal government decided to accept the recommendations of the Ranganath Mishra Commission, according to CM, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. Â The West Bengal CM said that other states have reservations for SCs, STs and OBCs, as they have sizeable population from those communities. So, West Bengal has also decided to offer reservations to the Muslim community in the state. |
