Moscow: Breaking News! Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi yet again came to India's rescue in the Davis Cup world group match against Russia and prevented a clean sweep by the Russians. Â Russia had taken a 2-0 lead after winning both singles on Day 1 yesterday. Paes and Bhupathi made the score 2-1, as they beat Teimuraz Gabashvili and Igor Kunitsyn 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets. They took just an hour and 36 minutes to finish it off. Â In tomorrow's reverse singles matche, Somdev Devvarman will take on Russian No. 1 Mikhail Youzhny, who is also the World No. 13. That will be crucial for both teams. |
