News Desk: Russian Tennis player Maria Sharapova won the Italian Open final on Sunday beating Li Na after a heavy rain that delayed the match for two hours. With the victory, she claimed the 26th trophy of her career.  


Sharapova celebrated her win in the Rome Masters final by defeating her China’s Li Na 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7/5). It was a struggle for the world number two player to claim the victory as she had found herself 6-4, 4-0 down before the rain.


It was a crazy match and both were looking dominating. Sharapova said that there is actually no loser. Appreciating Li Na, she said that the way Li Na defends and moves around will get herself back into position.


"She's just a great player on any surface really. So this gives me a lot of confidence", Sharapova told the reporters.


The rain break added stamina to her and finally she saved a match point.
