Vishwanathan Anand wins World Chess Title PDF Print E-mail

Sports Desk: India's Vishwanathan Anand beat Boris Gelfand (Israel) in a tough contest to retain his World Chess Title. This is Anand's fifth World title.

After the regular matches between Anand and Gelfand failed to pronounce a clear winner, the tie-break was held today. It was dubbed as "Battle of the Armageddon".



In the tie-break, the first game ended in a draw. Anand scored a point, when he won the second game. The remaining games ended in a draw, as Anand won 2.5-1.5.
