Sania-Bhupathi wins French Open Mixed-Doubles Title PDF Print E-mail

News Desk: Indian Tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza received much applauds when they won the mixed-doubles title together in the French Open final on Thursday.



The Indian pair won the title after beating Klaudia Jans-Ignacik of Poland and her Mexican partner Santiago Gonzalez 7-6 (7-3), 6-1. They took one hour and 13 minutes to win their second Grand Slam title together and first French Open trophy.


It was a great moment for Sania as it is the second career Grand Slam title for her, while 12th major trophy for Bhupathi. Earlier, the Indian pair had won the 2009 Australian Open together.
