Sports Desk: Germany yet again faltered at the last hurdle and lost to Italy 1-2 in the second semifinal of the Euro 2012. The jinx continued, as despite winning 10 matches in qualifying rounds and 4 matches in Euro 2012.

 

Striker Mario Balotelli struck twice to seal the game in Italy's favour. Mesut Ozil scored for Germany from penalty stroke. But, that turned out to be a mere consolation, as Italy prolonged Germany's 16-year wait for a major title.

 

Italy will now take on defending champions Spain in the grand finale on Sunday. Italy had won the Euro Championship last time in 1968.
