Youngsters help India win Davis Cup Tie vs Kiwis PDF Print E-mail

Sports Desk: Indian youngsters, without the seniors like Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna, have done extremely well to win the Davis Cup tie against New Zealand to stay in Davis Group Group 1. India have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead against the Kiwis.

 

Yuki Bhambri had won the first singles match yesterday with a thrilling 3-6, 0-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Daniel King-Turner. In the second match, Vishnu Vardhan beat Jose Statham 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-2.

 

In the doubles tie, Vishnu Vardhan and Divij Sharan defeated Michael Venus and Daniel King-Tuner 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3 to clinch the rubber for India.
