The DMK has again fielded 2G Scam accused and former Telecom Minister A Raja for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, saying he should seen as innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. However, Karunanidhi has not given the ticket to his son MK Alagiri, who was earlier suspended from the party for indiscipline.
"Don't hurt me by asking about Alagiri," said Mr Karunanidhi to the reporters. Alagiri is the sitting MP from the southern town of Madurai. He was shown the doors following the conflict with his younger brother MK Stalin, who now enjoys the full support of Karunanidhi as well as all DMK leaders and cadres.
While Raja will contest from Nilgiris constituency, another former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran will be fielded from Central Chennai. R Balu will contest from Thanjavur and S Jagathrakshagan from Sri Perumbudur. TKS Elangovan will contest from South Chennai.
