News Desk: Nokia has unveiled the 41 megapixels incredibly high-resolution camera of the Nokia Pure View 808 Smartphone in a special press conference held on Tuesday in New Delhi. The phone will be available in India in a few weeks.
PureView is basically an imaging technology based on a new 41 megapixel oversampling 1/1.2” sensor and a high-resolution f/2.3 Zeiss lens for magnificent images. The output will be at par with the quality of a professional-grade DSLR camera.
The amount of detail, clarity, color saturation and contrast is far better than any other Smartphone camera due to the large size of the sensor and the augmented focal length that Nokia has built in its Pureview808.
Answering to the query about why Nokia preferred to add a 41 mp camera in a Smartphone, Vesa Jutila, Nokia’s global head of marketing for smart devices said that the users wanted better zoom as well as low light photography.
Hence, while the Finnish phone maker company wanted to end up the megapixel competition, Nokia do also want to provide their users a Smartphone equipped with a camera that can provide the best ever image quality.
The PureView technology is equipped with cutting edge hardware and Smart software too. Actually the smart software is more responsible for turning out perfect pictures. It has a considerably larger image sensor and lens module compared to other Smartphones.
Mechanism – When someone snaps a picture, all the details are captured with the substantial 41 megapixel image sensor. But although the default image size is just 5 megapixels, the PureView 808 takes all these pixels and creates another group of pixels, what Jutila terms as ‘super pixels’ by combining details from them resulting with the production of an image that is exceptionally sharp, noise-free (video) and also of good quality even in low-light conditions.
The Nokia PureView 808 is the first Smartphone to feature Nokia’s PureView imaging technology. |
