News Desk: South Korea's Samsung Electronics finally launched its much awaited Smartphone, the Galaxy S III Ice Cream Sandwich version Android phone, to compete with Apple's iPhones.
The Super 4.8inch AMOLED High Definition (HD) display with a resolution of 720x1280Â of the Galaxy S III is excellent and is one of the noticeable hardware features of the device. Means it has pixels per inch rating of 306ppi which is slightly less than the iPhone 4S of Apple.
In spite of the 4.8in screen that is 22 per cent bigger than its Galaxy S II predecessor, the Galaxy S III is only 16 per cent bigger and weighs just 133g.
The Camera features of the device are outstanding. The Galaxy S III is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera that captures 1080p HD video and a 1.9-megapixel front facing camera. Adding to that, a number of software provided apps have also been added to the camera to create a better user experience.
These apps include Best Photo, which takes 20 shots in burst mode in a rate of six photos per second and also utilizes software algorithms to select the best photo, Face Zoom, which recognizes individual faces and zooms in to take a photo of them with Face Slideshow which focuses on a single person in an image slideshow.
Further the camera can also take still photos while recording video, like the HTC One X.
Again, the front facing camera is equipped with ‘Smart Stay’, which dims the screen automatically when you aren't looking at the phone. The S III also comes with the latest version of Samsung's TouchWIZ UI overlay. It runs with the 1.4GHz Exynos 4 quad-core processor, having 1GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S III comes in "marble white" and "pebble blue" colors. The phone features ‘Direct Call’ facility which means you can call a contact you are currently messaging by simply holding the phone up to your ear, Samsung also includes 50GB of free Dropbox storage for all its S III users.
