News Desk: Nokia has launched three new phone models Asha 305, Asha 306 and Asha 311 yesterday all from the ‘Asha’ series in a bid to regain its lost market in India.  The Asha series was introduced in October last year.  We don’t have the price of the devices at present but it is expected to be around Rs. 4, 500 in India. In comparison to its euro price abroad while the Asha 305 is expected to be about Rs. 4,350, the Asha 306 should be around Rs. 4, 700 and the Asha 311 may carry a price tag of about Rs 6,360.  All the devices are expected to start shipping for India in the third quarter of 2012.  Nokia Executive VP (Mobile Phones) Mary T McDowell described that these phones target mainly the young, urban people who may prefer it for its great look and its intuitive and affordable experience for connecting to the internet.  Out of the three models while the Asha 311 is a 3.5G capacitive touchscreen device powered by a 1 GHz processor, the Asha 305 has dual SIM feature and the Asha 306, a single SIM model, is the most affordable Wi-Fi handset from Nokia. With this addition, the series now has 10 devices available in more than 130 markets.  All these three devices will run on Asha Touch, which is a new, fun and playful touch screen interface that builds on Nokia’s swipe heritage. |
