News Desk: Sony Xperia sola is one of the three devices launched by Sony few days back in India. The device is priced at Rs 20,449 and sports 1GHz dual-core processor, 3.7-inch Floating Touch display, a 5MP camera and Android 2.3 OS.  First of all, contrary to the company’s claim, the phone does not seem to have a scratch-resistant screen as one can see that the screen is full of scratches after using it for a while.  Secondly, the 1320 mAh battery is not powerful enough to keep the device running for a full work day. There were times when without any apparent activity the device would still have run out of power after a full charge in less than a day.  Thirdly, the phone does not have the translucent band that is present on its brothers the Xperia U, P and S. The translucent band may make the phones look stylish.  Fourthly, coming to camera, the Xperia Sola lacks with a front camera. But, the 5 MP rear camera produces excellent images in both low and bright light conditions. However, the zoom is a bit tough. The physical camera key disappoints as it requires quite some effort to capture an image. But, the touch button works quite well to snap a picture.  Engineered with 1 GHz dual-core processor, multitasking on this phone is good.  The device is a DLNA certified phone and so one can comfortably share content with other DLNA compatible devices including TVs, mobile phones, PCs, laptops and others over WiFi network.  Summing up, the device is a value for money as a mid-ranger. However, it is important to point out that absence of ICS and a front camera are surely discouraging factors with the Sony Xperia Sola. |
