News Desk: In a shocking development, legendary investor Warren Buffett has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, his condition is not life-threatening, he asserted on Wednesday.

In a letter to his shareholders, the Berkshire Hathaway chief said that he has been diagnosed with Stage I prostate cancer on and will undergo a two-month treatment of daily radiation in July.

"The good news is that I have been told by my doctors that my condition is not remotely life-threatening or even debilitating in any meaningful way", he said.

Buffett, 81, said that he has undergone several medical tests including CAT scan, bone scan and an MRI, which showed no incidence of cancer elsewhere in his body.

The treatment will begin in mid-July. His travel would be restricted during that period. However, he will not change his daily routine, he said.

The leading investor and philanthropist said that he is feeling great with "100%" energy level even if he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He said that he will keep on updating about his health to his shareholders.

Buffett for the first time had said in February that he had chosen a successor without naming the candidate. However, Indian-origin Ajit Jain, who is the head of the company's reinsurance operations, is said to be one of the leading candidates to succeed him.
