News Desk: After a long battle, the former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney has finally clinched the Republican nominations for the race to US President. He will take on incumbent Barack Obama.

After the victory in Texas Primary Tuesday, Romney surged ahead of his rivals, leaving no option for them but to drop out of the contest.

Romney needed 58 out of 152 delegates in Texas to reach the magic number 1,144. However, he won 88, making it no contest for his rivals.

It is believed that Romney would give Obama a run for his money when the ultimate battle takes place later this year. He has promised better action to fix the struggling US Economy.
