TNI Bureau: In a significant development on June 19, the Pakistan Supreme Court has disqualified Yousaf Raja Gilani as the Prime Minister and ruled that he had lost the right to rule from April 26, 2012.

On April 26, 2012, the Pakistan Supreme Court had convicted Gilani for contempt after he refused to ask Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

The apex court also asked the President to appoint a new Prime Minister with immediate effect. Meanwhile, the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is holding a meeting to decide the future course of action.
