Mohammed el-Megarif elected as President of Libya |

News Desk: Libya's national assembly elected its former opposition leader Mohammed el-Megarif as its interim president, who will rule the country following the death of Muammar Gaddafi.
Megarif won the polls by defeating independent Ali Zidan. He bagged 113 votes in the 200-member Congress, while his opponent won 85.
Megarif was the leader of Libya's oldest opposition movement, the National Front for the Salvation of Libya.
With the victory of Megarif, Libyas finally got its leader after the downfall of Gaddafi regime.
